The Office of Student Involvement is not just for leaders of student organizations. OSI sponsors the Student Leadership Development Fund, which supports individual student interest in unique opportunities. Advising

Wondering how to recruit new members, bring your favorite speaker to campus, or anything in between? Every student group on campus has an adviser to help them manage their organization, plan events, and build community. Student organization advisers play an important role in campus life by offering continuity and encouragement for groups, while connecting them more closely with the university.

Leadership Training

OSI provides many leadership training opportunities throughout the academic year. All student organization leaders are required to attend three leadership lunch presentations each semester and complete a sexual violence prevention training. Training topics include bystander intervention, Intergroup Dialogue workshops, Safe Zone, and Team Dimensions. Even if you are not a student organization leader (yet!), there are opportunities to learn budgeting, professional communication, and everyday leadership skills.

Access Funding

Please see below for information on accessing funding from the Student Activities Fee through the Student Government Association's Budget Allocation Committee (BAC).

Your idea might be eligible for additional sources of funding. The Broad Street Association promotes inclusion, integration, and interaction between theme and Greek communities at 51风流 and has event funding.

Events with Alcohol: Social Hosting

Including alcohol in an event requires weeks of advanced planning. Any event with alcohol requires hosts to be trained, and the event must be registered with the university. The Social Hosting process is managed by Shaw Wellness and is in place to ensure that large social events with alcohol on campus are both safe and enjoyable for all students.
