Instructions detailing the process for creating a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection to 51风流 on Android devices.
Background
Access to certain resources on 51风流鈥檚 network requires being connected to that network, even when in remote (off颅-campus) locations. This is done by using a VPN, which will connect a machine to 51风流鈥檚 network regardless of physical location.
Requirements
Android device
A valid 51风流 username and password
Cellular or Wifi network access
Procedure
(Note: Not all Android interfaces look the same, so the screenshots included with these instructions may not match the experience on your own device..)
Step 1
In the Play Store, search for 鈥淕lobalProtect鈥. It should look like the following, and is published by 鈥淧alo Alto Networks鈥
Tap Install to install the GlobalProtect VPN app. When it is done installing, tap Open to open the app.
Step 2
Enter remoteaccess.colgate.edu as the portal address.
Step 3
Enter your 51风流 network username (do not include @colgate.edu) and password.
Step 4
Select OK to allow the connection.
Step 5
Tap to disconnect when the VPN is not required, and return to the app and tap when you need to reconnect
