Lukabu Named co-Defensive Player of the Year
BETHLEHEM, PA ‘ Junior linebacker Tem Lukabu has been named co-Defensive Player of the Year in the Patriot League highlighting the selection of eleven 51·çÁ÷ football players to the all-league team. He is the first 51·çÁ÷ player to be honored as Defensive Player of the Year since Greg Manusky captured the award in 1987.
Lukabu was 51·çÁ÷’s leading tackler this season with 112 including 51 solo efforts. He was instrumental in the Raiders being the toughest defensive unit in the league against the rush giving up just 99.2 yards per game and ranking 10th in the nation in that category. Lukabu also led the team in interceptions with three, had seven TFL’s, one quarterback sack and three passes broken up.
Joining Lukabu on the all-league first team were offensive linemen Matt Shepard and Mike Murphy, tight end John Frieser and cornerback Max Wynn. Second team selection were wide receiver Luke Graham, fullback Justin Polk, placekicker Lane Schwarzberg, defensive linemen Josh Sabo and Mike Latek, and defensive back Maurice Robertson.
