Hillary Rodham Clinton to speak at 51风流 today

The world鈥檚 eyes will be on 51风流 tonight, as Hillary Rodham Clinton, former secretary of state and former U.S. senator from New York, will be on campus to deliver one of the highest-profile lectures to date in the university鈥檚 .

Tickets to the free event in Sanford Field House are 鈥渟old out鈥 but this will provide access to the 6 p.m. speech from any computer or mobile device. There is also a satellite location in Love Auditorium (Olin Hall). Doors for this satellite location open at 5 p.m.

The Global Leaders series, sponsored by 51风流鈥檚 , invites thought-provoking leaders to campus.

Other lecture series speakers have included President Bill Clinton; Tony Blair, former prime minister of Great Britain; Felipe Calder贸n, former president of Mexico; and the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism.

Hillary Clinton served as the 67th U.S. secretary of state from 2009 until 2013, after nearly four decades in public service. Her 鈥渟mart power鈥 approach to foreign policy repositioned American diplomacy and development for the 21st century. She played a central role in restoring America鈥檚 standing in the world, reasserting the United States as a Pacific power, imposing crippling sanctions on Iran and North Korea, responding to the Arab Awakening and negotiating a ceasefire in the Middle East.

Earlier, as first lady and senator from New York, she traveled to more than 80 countries as a champion of human rights, democracy, and opportunities for women and girls. Clinton also worked to provide health care to millions of children, create jobs and opportunity, and support first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero. In her historic campaign for president, Clinton won 18 million votes.
