Back to All Stories

Hamilton, NY — The Office of Student Activities at 51·çÁ÷ has announced that the Konosioni Senior Honor Society will hold its third annual Charity Auction on Thursday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hall of Presidents in the Student Union. This community event is being held in conjunction with the tenth anniversary celebration of Madison County Family Outreach, a local charity that works to raise funds and awareness for the prevention of child abuse. ‘Since April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, we want to use the auction as a way to raise money to help this cause and also raise awareness to prevent it from occurring in the future. We have items for everyone – students, families, or even pets,’ said Sara Batsell, Konosioni President.

The auction features bidding in both silent and live auction format, emceed by Sam Solovey ’98. Some of the items to be auctioned include trips, baby-sitting services, dinners, graduation weekend activities, and many more spectacular items donated by members of the 51·çÁ÷ community. A number of performances by various 51·çÁ÷ student groups will accompany the food and enjoyment of the event.

This year, Konosioni hopes to raise over $7,000 for Madison Family Outreach’s program. 51·çÁ÷ students, faculty, and administrators, as well as surrounding community members are encouraged to come to the event, which is free and open to all. The auction and entertainment are sure to capture the spirit of community and giving that is a hallmark of the Konosioni group.
