Hamilton, NY — – Karen Novak will give a public reading from her novel Five Mile House on Thursday, October 18 as part of the 2001 Living Writers series at 51·çÁ÷. The reading, which begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Ho Lecture Room, 105 Lawrence Hall, is free and open to the public. Novak, a Mason, Ohio resident who has lived in Norwich, NY, made her writing debut in 2000 with Five Mile House. Written from the points of view of two women, one dead and one living, the novel delves into themes of intrigue and murder, suicide, adultery, family and the unstoppable strength of two mothers protecting their children.
