Men’s Cross Country Appoints New Assistant

Raiders name Brett Schneider as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator.

Hamilton, NY — The 51·çÁ÷ Athletic Department has named Brett Schneider to the position of men’s cross country and track & field assistant coach/recruiting coordinator.

Schneider comes to the Raiders from the University of Texas at Austin where he worked on a master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise physiology, sports science and nutrition. Prior to his graduation in May of 2002, he assisted coach Dan Pfaff and gained experience working with sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers and throwers at both the collegiate and post-collegiate levels.

A 2000 graduate of the University of Vermont, he set three school records and won the conference championship in the 400-meter hurdles for the Catamounts.  He then worked for one year at his alma mater as the assistant coach for sprints and hurdles.

 As assistant coach/recruiting coordinator, he will be primarily responsible for recruiting, administration of the fall training program and coaching the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers. He will also assist Coach McKinnon with cross country.

 Schneider is USA Track & Field certified Level I and Level II in the sprints.
