Clarkson game to be televised by Time Warner Cable
HAMILTON, N.Y. ‘The 51·çÁ÷ men’s hockey team continues its road swing this weekend with two games up in the north country against Clarkson on Saturday, Jan. 4 and at St. Lawrence on Sunday, Jan. 5.
Time Warner Cable will carry the Clarkson game on Channel 13. This marks the second time this season the Raiders have appeared on television as Empire Sports Network carried the December 5 game against Niagara from Starr Rink.
The Raiders and the Golden Knights meet for the second time this season as Clarkson won the first match-up 2-1 in overtime in the College Hockey Showcase on December 14 at the Corel Centre in Ottawa.
Clarkson leads the all-time series 73-37-8 and also leads the series at Cheel by a 21-20-3 margin. The last time these two teams met in Potsdam, Bob Vandersluis scored the game tying goal at 2:42 of the third period and the Raiders held on for a 2-2 tie. David Cann finished with 30 saves in net.
Head coach Don Vaughan returns to his alma mater on Sunday night when 51·çÁ÷ battles St. Lawrence at Appleton Arena. St. Lawrence leads the all-time series 54-48-1 and also leads the series in Canton by a 28-19-0 margin. The Raiders won both meetings with the Saints last season as Paul Kelley scored the game winning goal in a 4-3 win in Canton and Cann recorded his first collegiate shutout in the 5-0 win at home. The win in Canton marked the first time the Raiders defeated the Saints at Appleton since January 4, 1997.
