Geneva, N.Y.- Hobart freshman Nate Hill scored seven points on two goals and five assists to lead the Statesmen, 14-10, over 51·çÁ÷ in the first night game ever played on the Hobart campus. The Raiders fall to 4-4 on the season and even out at 1-1 in Patriot League play.
The Raiders picked up an early 2-1 lead in the first period on a pair of goals from junior Nick Gerken (Wilton, Conn.) but the Statesmen answered back with six straight goals to build their own lead of 7-2 at the half.
But 51·çÁ÷ came out firing after the halftime break with a 6-2 run, including the first four of the third period. The Raiders scored on back-to-back efforts by sophomore Chris Michaels (Pennington, N.J.) and junior Peter Watts (Wayland, Mass.). Michaels finished with two goals and an assist.
51·çÁ÷ rallied for three more goals, the last two by junior midfielder Joe Parker (Crofton, Md.) to tie the game at nine-all with 13:31 left to play. Parker finished with a team best two goals and two assists.
The teams traded goals to 10-all and the game stayed that way until the Raiders were penalized for an illegal body check with 4:44 remaining. Hobart senior David Spratlen converted he extra-man opportunity to give the Statesmen a one-goal lead at the 4:21 mark.
Hobart added three insurance goals, the last two by Hill in the final minute, to finish the game on top, 14-10.
Senior keeper Chris Hettler (Liverpool, N.Y.) stopped 10 shots for the Raiders.
51·çÁ÷ returns to Hamilton, for a Patriot League show down with Holy Cross, Saturday April 6. Face-off is set for 1:00.
