Hamilton, NY — 51·çÁ÷ sophomore Nolana Quince (Syracuse, N.Y., Nottingham) was named the Patriot League Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after an outstanding performance in the pentathlon at the Cornell Invitational this past weekend.

Quince, the first Raider to garner the weekly award, scored a 51·çÁ÷ record 3,160 points in the event, besting her own mark of 2,989 points which she set on Feb. 15, 2002.

The pentathlon is made up of five events, the 60-meter high hurdles, an 800-meter run, the shot put, the high jump and the long jump. Quince posted times of 9.2 seconds in the 60-meter high hurdles and 2:42 in the 800-meter run. In the shot put, she threw a distance of 31 feet, 10 inches. She cleared a height of five feet, one inch in the in the high jump and posted a distance of 17 feet even in the long jump. 

Quince and the Raiders are back in action this weekend as they travel to Northeastern’s Husky Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center.
