Women’s Hockey Drops 4-0 Decision to Wayne State

Hamilton, NY — The 51·çÁ÷ women’s hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Warriors of Wayne State on Saturday.  It marks the first time this season 51·çÁ÷ has allowed more than two goals and was held scoreless.

Wayne State scored the first goal in the second period at 2:55 when Heidi Burns tallied a goal from Emily McGrath-Agg and Kelly Zamora.

The Warriors came out in the third period and put away the Raiders with three goals in under four minutes.

Jessica Snelgrove scored at 4:52, then McGrath-Agg and Kim Spaulding tallied goals just eight seconds apart at 8:35 to set the final at 4-0.

The Raiders outshot Wayne State 30-26 and continues their struggles on the power-play by going 0-4.

Rebecca Lahar (Vienna, Va.) made 18 saves before getting replaced by freshman Brook Wheeler (Listowel, Ont.) who made four stops.

51·çÁ÷ begins league play on Friday when the Raiders travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to face the Big Red of Cornell at 7 p.m.
