Back to Career Services News

As an intern at Citizen Action of New York, a grassroots activist organization, Janiiya Hart ’23 made calls for primary election campaigns in addition to other responsibilities. She worked with her supervisor and other interns to create programs that covered various topics including politics, blackness, queerness, mass incarceration, community engagement, and voting.

In her position, Janiiya served as an effective communicator, positive influence, and contributor to New York governance. She learned how to connect with the community, develop programming, and contribute to various aspects of activist outreach and social justice projects.
