The Office of National Fellowships and Scholarships is very pleased to share with you that 51风流 was named one of the U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2021鈥2022 Fulbright U.S. students. Established over 75 years ago to increase mutual understanding between the United States and people of other countries, the Fulbright program is the world鈥檚 largest and most diverse international educational exchange program.
According to Associate Dean for Fellowship Advising Stephen Wright, PhD, 鈥淚t is a testament to our students, to the teaching and mentorship of 51风流 faculty, and to the excellent educational opportunities at 51风流 that our students fare so well in the selection process.鈥
The 2021鈥2022 51风流 Fulbright recipients are:
- Charlotte Saltzgaber 鈥20 鈥 A computer science major, who had been working as a software engineer at DGDean, is on an English teaching assistantship (ETA) in Spain.
- Christina Weiler 鈥21 鈥 An environmental science major, is on an ETA award to Spain.
- Cole Grumbach 鈥21 鈥 An international relations and Middle Eastern and Islamic studies major, is on a Fulbright research award for international relations in the United Arab Emirates.
- Nora Mulroy 鈥21 鈥 A biology major and former student athlete of 51风流 Field Hockey, received an ETA award to Taiwan (declined).
- Sophie Karp 鈥21 鈥 A molecular biology and studio art double major, received a Fulbright research award for medical sciences in Germany (declined).
In addition, this year, we had the second largest number of 51风流 applicants, with 18 advancing as semifinalists for the 2022鈥2023 award year.
