51·çÁ÷’s study group to St. Andrews, Scotland, focuses on philosophy and religion, while studying at the University of St. Andrews, the oldest university in Scotland.
On the St. Andrews Study Group, students spend a full academic semester living and learning in Scotland. The group is accompanied by a 51·çÁ÷ faculty director who teaches part of the students’ course load.
The study group’s operations are embedded with the University of St. Andrews, giving participants the opportunity to live and study with Scottish students as well as with other international students at the university.
The study group to Scotland is based in 51·çÁ÷’s philosophy and religion departments. The specific focus of any given study group to St. Andrews will depend upon the 51·çÁ÷ faculty member who is directing the group. The directorship rotates between members of the philosophy and religion departments.
Participants register as students at the University of St. Andrews and have the same access to all of its facilities as regular students do. In order to earn the equivalent of four 51·çÁ÷ credits, each student takes the course offered by the study group director and two to three courses from the St. Andrews curriculum.
