Members of the 51·çÁ÷ classes of 2022–25 will now benefit from an additional expansion of the University’s no-loan initiative under the 51·çÁ÷ Commitment.

On June 1, 51·çÁ÷ announced the 51·çÁ÷ Commitment: An Initiative in Access and Affordability.

51·çÁ÷’s admission team has put the University’s Plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into bold action, with impressive results.

During its spring meeting, the 51·çÁ÷ Board of Trustees approved a series of appointments to endowed professorships, effective July 1, 2021.

51·çÁ÷’s administration and faculty are drawing on national best practices and creating their own innovative approaches to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in tenure-stream hiring.  

Laura Jack, vice president for communications, will serve as acting CDO, providing coordination and oversight for DEI initiatives while the search for a permanent hire continues.

In its first year, 51·çÁ÷’s no-loan initiative awarded more than $1.5 million to students.

Daniel Benton ’80, P’10, H’10 has secured his place as 51·çÁ÷’s most generous benefactor, making a $25 million gift in support of the University’s Middle Campus Plan for Arts, Creativity, and Innovation and other elements within The Third-Century Plan.

51·çÁ÷ announced the creation of two endowed faculty chairs that will support teaching and research in areas important to The Third-Century Plan.

Filmmaker Julie Cohen ’86 has found joy in documenting the lives of women, making her an ideal guest speaker during 51·çÁ÷’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration of coeducation.
